Have a Ghostly Date with The Master's Sun
The Master's Sun is a nice, peppy romantic comedy. There is great chemistry between the two leads, the story is not that great and lacks variety but despite being the usual its entertaining and fun to watch.
I know it's been a while since the telecast of this drama, I am happy that I got to watch it.
Reminds me of "Fated to love you"
As a said the story is not the biggest strength of this drama. But this drama can remind me a lot of the Jang Hyuk and Jang Na Ra starrer "Fated to Love you"
Fated To Love You is a cute and fun drama but it's not the most innovative thing to take plot from this story.
Here are some of the similarities, but these are really common story plots for a Korean drama.
No Love But Stuck Together
The two leads are somehow stuck together with each other(close to each other) without love.
Forgetting All Memories of Love
This one is really too much. An age old way to bring a twist to the story. I personally find this very boring. Not a big fan of predictable elements in the
story.
Leaving country with another Man
Yeah! Leaving your man. Too Bad
Coming back to Korea gives a leap in the story to start afresh. I am not a big fan of this element either.
So basically all the above made "Master's Sun" a little boring. Although the drama is a good watch overall but could have been much better.
Coming back to our subject....I keep wondering this...
IS SHE REALLY THE MASTER'S SUN
Now as the name of the drama, Tae Gong-shil (Gong Hyo Jin) is the Taeyang (Sun) for Joo Joong-won (So Ji-sub) but why did she never get to be treated like one??
Why??
This is one of the most irritating and oftenly repeated thing with Kdramas where the female lead is treated like she is the most undeserving being in the whole world. It also makes all the positives sides of her personality fade away from her.
This Drama is another example of "Treat her Like Crap and Get the Girl" while the nice one gets "FriendZoned"
ITS FUNNY
Gong Hyo Jin is an amazing actress with a great sense of comic timing. Whenever she gets drunk and possessed by ghosts the scenes becomes amazingly funny.
Her acting like a dog, dancing as a french lady and many more were very good. Some actors just proves why they deserves so many fans and fame(and of course the money) with every new series.
Joon Won getting jealous with Kang Woo.
Also, Joon Won getting jealous of Gaint mall CEO
These are all super cute and super funny scenes.
SO JI SUB
It's enough to just say his name. I think I am in love.....He is a greedy rude and abnoxious CEO but he has a soft and loving side to him as well that we get to see as the story progress. From being a person who calculate every thing in profit and loss to being a person who cannot see or hear ghosts but still talks to them sitting along the garbage can ghost.
And, the way he says "GET LOST" in his effervescence style is the best ever.
He looks adorable in those glassless glasses.
GONG HYO JIN
She is an amazing actress and I thing she can bring to life a plain and simple plot in an interesting and fun way.She did a great job at every point trying to grab Joo Joong Won (Just what I would have done...still want to)
She shows off a completely different personalty with the ghosts entering her body.
Even with a cat.
Kang Joo Won and Tae Yi Ryung
Although Yi Ryung is a insensible person who has an inferiority complex but she turns into and adorable and soft persong when with Joo Won. And the chemistry between the two is quite entertaining.
THE SUPER CUTE MOMENT....
Joo Jong Won the next morning after the come back of Gong Shil...
To all those who have not watched this drama....it's a must watch. Not only this contains some very good performances, the story is not too bad either.
Although it gets slower towards the end but that's OK for me. I like the all the ghosts and their stories. The chemistry between the leads and the second leads. This show makes every one meet with a happy ending.
